Flew on Continental Flight #82 from Newark to Delhi, non-stop, 15 hours. Sat with a couple from India who now live in Dallas. They had their 21-month-old daughter with them, who was on her first trip and she cried for several hours, before finally settling down. The flight was uneventful, other than the fact that the flight attendants seemed to be more concerned with fast production than with the care and comfort of their passengers.
Arrived in Delhi – on time at 9:15 p.m. on January 10th – and finally retrieved my luggage and proceeded out through customs and met Sanjiv Saran, a Rotarian from the Rotary Club of Delhi - West, who drove me to his home. Was met by Sanjiv’s wife, Jyotsna, Ollie (her sister) Pallavi and Gaurav (Sanjiv’s daughter and son) and a brother-in-law and his daughter. We had a late dinner and then retired.
